Tree Top Walk
Located just 16kms west of the Tree Top Walk, we are perfectly located for your walk through the Tree Tops.
The Walpole Wilderness Area boasts some of the state's most spectacular landscapes, coasts, habitats and vegetation. Consisting of a number of national parks and reserves, it safeguard areas of environmental, biodiversity and indigenous significance.
Giant Tingle Tree – The World's Largest Girthed Living Eucalypt!!
The park is a haven for native flora and fauna, including the world-renowned red tingle trees (Eucalyptus jacksonii). As tingle trees age, their relatively shallow roots spread, resulting in a unique buttressed trunk that is often hollowed out at the base by fungi, insects and fire. Growing up to 75m tall and living for over 400 years, they are truly majestic. See for yourself just how impressive these ancient trees can be by visiting the Giant Tingle Tree - with a base circumference of 24m, it is regarded as the world's largest, living, girthed eucalypt.
Bibbulmun Track
Internationally renowned as one of the world's great long distance walk trails, The Bibbulmun Track extends nearly 1,000km from the hills of Perth to Albany on the state's southern coast. The Walpole portion of the Track offers unrivalled views of rugged coast, tingle forest, heathlands and low woodlands. Check The Bibbulmun Track website for more information on day and overnight walks in the area.
Nornalup Inlet
Nornalup Inlet, with its shallow, warm waters, is only 10m from your accommodation and is a safe haven for families seeking some well-earned beachside relaxation. We even have a boat storage area to park your boat with a boat ramp conveniently located next to the park.
Whether you are a lifelong fishing fanatic or just bring out the rod and reel when on holiday, Walpole offers excellent beach and offshore fishing all year round. Anglers can try their luck at catching black bream, pink snapper, King George whiting, salmon and herring. We stock a variety of bait in our shop along with some fishing gear.
The national park is also home to a diverse array of birdlife, including red-winged fairy-wrens and kookaburras, whose laughing call rings out loud across the forest. During the wildflower season, orchids, crowea and hovea abound.
